A Late Review of Lizzo's "Cuz I Love You"
With her hit song “Truth Hurts,” Lizzo has catapulted herself into the public eye in 2019. Along with this hit song, comes the Detroit rapper’s impressive album titled “Cuz I Love You.” Initially overlooked by us at Oldmlk.Com, we now go back to review Lizzo’s “Cuz I Love You.” The album has two versions, the original “Cuz I Love You” which came out on April 19th and the deluxe version which came about two weeks later on the 3rd of May. The original is made up of 11 songs which add up to about 33 minutes of music. The deluxe adds 3 extra songs to the original 11 which ultimately add up to 14 songs and about 42 minutes of music. Throughout both versions of the album, only Missy Elliott and Gucci Mane appear as features. Interestingly enough, Lizzo’s hit song “Truth Hurts” only appears on the deluxe version of the album. This could be one of the factors that led to the eventual resurgence of the album, hitting number 6 on the Billboard 200 twice, the first time on the week of its debut and the second time being this week. Through ten weeks on the chart, Lizzo’s “Cuz I Love You” has managed to stay within the top 25 on the Billboard 200, making it an interesting album to look at retrospectively.

Final Review
Lizzo is a very talented artist who put together a phenomenal album. At times the album can almost fall out of the Hip-Hop genre, which shows how versatile she is. Along with her solid verses delivered by her strong cadence that demands attention, Lizzo’s vocal range is impressive. Her ability to sing her heart out on one song then transition to deliver solid rap verses on the next is amazing. The production throughout the whole album adds to the greatness of the album providing popish beats that draw the listener in allowing Lizzo to keep the listener with her great content and tremendous delivery. The use of Missy Elliott and Gucci Mane was perfect, putting both of them in musical elements where they typically produce good verses. I think the three songs added with the deluxe version on the album are the best songs on the entire album because of their catchiness as well as versatility in terms of where they can be played. Overall, with the great content provided across the 14 songs, Lizzo’s “Cuz I Love You” is a great album.
